SAS Stressteel Strand Anchors
SAS Stressteel has been successfully manufacturing premium Strand Anchors in various length and sizes for the most demanding applications.
With one of the most sophisticated strand machines available, we are proud to offer domestic and non-domestic strand options to be used in the most challenging projects. From the initial design help to the final product, SAS Stressteel has established itself at the top of the industry.
With various approvals, from the City of LA to the California Transit Authority (DOT), SAS Stressteel Strand Anchors have been chosen to be the perfect solution for a variety of infrastructure projects.
Strand anchors consist of three main components: the anchor head, a steel tendon - divided into the bond section and freelength - and the grout body. The steel tendon is constructed from a number of 270K 7-wire prestressing strands.
Strand anchors can be closely matched to the required loads by selecting the number of strands, strand cross-section and steel grade. Long anchor lengths can be produced without joints.

SAS Strand Anchor Advantages:
- Highest quality strands available (domestic and Non-domestic)
- Sophisticated Strand Machine ensuring highest industry standard wax and grease process, ensuring individual coverage of each 7 strand wire.
- Class 1 (permanent application) and Class 2 (temporary application) corrosion protection available
- Additional corrosion protection of anchor heads and hardware available, ranging from epoxy coating to hot-dipped galvanizing
- Shop drawing and engineering assistance to our customers
- Stressing equipment with up to date calibration available on rental basis
- Short lead time
Applications:
- Permanent Soil Anchor
- Temporary Soil Anchors
- Slope Surface Stabilization
- Foundations
- Temporary Support of Excavation
The system is easy to install due to high anchor flexibility. Transportation is efficient due to low space requirement for transport and storage as anchors are supplied coiled up.

Corrosion Protection:
SAS Stressteel Strand Anchors are manufactured in accordance with the Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI) Recommendations for Prestressed Rock and Soil Anchors. SAS Strand Anchors meet all required standards as set forth in ASTM A416. The following corrosion protection options are availble.
PTI Class I - Encapsulated Tendon
Anchorage: Trumpet, Grout or corrosion-inhibiting compound-filled cover if exposed.
Unbonded Length: Corrosion-inhibiting compound-filled sheath encased in grout, or Grout filled sheath, or Grout-encased epoxy coated strand in a successfully water-pressure tested drill hole.
Bond Length: Grout-filled encapsulation, or Epoxy Coated Strand Anchors in a successfully water-pressure tested drill hole.
PTI Class II - Grout Protected Tendon
Anchorage: Trumpet, Grout or corrosion-inhibiting compound-filled cover if exposed.
Unbonded Length: Corrosion-inhibiting compound-filled sheath encased in grout, or Grout filled sheath, or Grout-encased fully or partially bonded tendon in sound rock or concrete.
Bond Length: Grout encasement.
Temporary - Up to 24 months
Anchorage: No trumpets.
Unbonded Length: Corrosion-inhibiting compound-filled sheath.
Bond Length: No extra protection required.

Strand Anchor Properties:
